Rob Furness

Rob Furness has been working in the financial community for the past 35 years mostly in the banking sector. He is a graduate of the University of Delaware where he received a BS degree in Education. A long time Delaware resident, Rob and his wife Deb reside just south of Wilmington and have two grown children and one grandchild.

He is currently a Vice President with the Bank of America and works in the Global Card Services group.  Rob has been on the board of several non-profit organizations including the Richardson Park Community Action Program, a non-profit organization that is involved with providing numerous services and assistance to needy individuals and families in the community and the Richardson Park Civic Association where he served as President and Treasurer along with several years on their Executive Board. He became involved with JDRF in 2004 when his granddaughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes working as a volunteer for several of the Walks and Galas. He joined the Board of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in 2008 and has served as the Walk for the Cure Chairperson for the 2008 and 2009 walks.

Rob has achieved the Presidents Volunteer Service Award as part of the USA Freedom Corps several times during the past years.

Some of the other groups he has worked with are Habitat for Humanity, the Boys and Girls Club of Delaware, and Relay for Life along with several other local charities. He has enjoyed being able to serve his community through his many volunteer efforts and looks forward to many more years of service.
